Cookies Policy

1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Cookies let a site remember your preferences or keep you logged in across page loads. Some cookies are essential to make the site work at all; others are used for analytics or advertising. This page explains exactly what cookies EasyPDFly uses, why, and how long they last.
2. Cookies we set ourselves (first-party)
| Name | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| easypdfly_sid | Keeps you logged in across pages. Also holds CSRF token to protect form submissions. | Essential | 30 days (expires sooner if you log out) |
This is the only cookie we set ourselves. It is HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax. Without it you cannot log in.
3. Third-party cookies (only on specific pages)
When you visit a Stripe-hosted payment page (Pro / Ultra checkout) Stripe sets its own cookies to process the payment and detect fraud. These are essential for the transaction; they are governed by Stripe's cookie policy. We do not control them.
| Provider | When set | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Only when you open the Pro/Ultra checkout | Process payment, detect fraud (essential) |
4. What we do NOT use
- ❌ No Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any analytics cookie
- ❌ No Facebook Pixel, TikTok pixel, LinkedIn Insight, or any social tracker
- ❌ No advertising / retargeting cookies
- ❌ No cross-site tracking
- ❌ No fingerprinting
Because we do not run any non-essential cookies we are not required under the EU ePrivacy Directive to show a consent banner.
5. How to control cookies
- Browser settings — every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Doing so for
easypdfly_sidwill log you out and prevent future logins until you re-enable it. - Private / incognito mode — sessions still work but the cookie is wiped when you close the window.
- Do Not Track — we honour DNT by not running any non-essential tracking anyway.
6. Local storage
In addition to the cookie above we use your browser's localStorage on tool pages to save your in-progress work (so the "Resume previous session" banner can restore it). This data lives only in your browser, never reaches our servers, and is keyed per tool (easypdfly:session:<tool-slug>). You can clear it any time by emptying browser storage in DevTools or by clicking "Discard" when prompted.
7. Changes to this policy
If we ever start using a non-essential cookie (we do not currently plan to) we will update this page, change the "Last updated" date, and ask for your consent via a banner before setting it.
